Job Description:/h3:
The Senior Unix/Storage Engineer candidate will be responsible for the administration of the entire Unix server installation, which includes but is not limited to, the RedHat Linux 4:7, Centos, AIX, and Solaris environments. The candidate will manage all Unix servers including hardware and software upgrades, OS patches, and maintenance. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that server back:ups are completed as required, and will complete scheduled system restores in compliance with disaster recovery. He/she will be responsible for the monitoring of the server infrastructure utilizing the Nagios monitoring software. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the existing JBoss server farm. The candidate must possess the ability to perform shell and Perl batch scripting.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining current SAN storage and assist in future storage design and implementation. He/she must be able to configure and troubleshoot storage network infrastructure including fibre channel.
The candidate must be able to support and maintain the existing VMWare server farm including the deployment of new virtual servers, troubleshooting virtual server problems, and maintaining the Virtual Center environment.
Responsibilities :
The candidate will be responsible for documentation of policies and procedures and knowledge transfer to peers.

RedHat Linux system administration

Troubleshoot IP networking issues
:
Maintain and develop suitable server security (file permissions, firewalls, ect..)

Shell and/or Perl scripting for system automation
:
Maintain, coordinate with Application developers and deploy applications, for JBOSS servers

Maintain and deploy SAN storage
:
Assist with future storage design and product selection
:
Troubleshoot storage infrastructure
:
Monitor SAN storage and infrastructure for availability and performance
:
VMWare ESXi basic administration
:
Basic Veritas NetBackup administration
:
Define standards, develop and execute re:occurring server maintenance tasks
Qualifications and Skills:
:
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
:
2+ years working in enterprise IT environment
:
Willingness to participate in 24 x 7 on call rotation
:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
:
Knowledge of Unix AIX (RHCE preferred)
:
Knowledge of SAN infrastructure (FC, FCOE, ISCSI) (Cisco and Brocade fabric switching)
:
Knowledge of multiple SAN storage platforms (NetApp, EMC, NexSan)
:
Knowledge of server virtualization
:
Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup is a plus
