Auto req ID xxxx5BR Job Title SQM Project/Warranty Engineer Country United States Posting Location Auburn Hills, MI Job Description Overview: - SQM Project Representative in Project team from quotation phase until release of all new designed project specific components reached to Gate 70. Management of project specific component introduction within project. Support warranty analysis of supplier quality issue (as assigned). Core Responsibilities: Project Management/Quality Assurance - Align planning with AP with regards to supplier release, SCR, nomination etc. - Ensure early involvement of SQM Plant/CI and suppliers. - Confirm SQM CI to each new component. - Drive component introduction within development projects. - Initiate corrective actions (e.g. escalation) in case the project schedule or component quality requirements can't be met. - Provide feedback by experts about requirements fulfillment of supplied components. - Manage cross-functional clarification if needed. - Ensure supplier qualification plan execution. - Facilitate the hand-over from SQM DM and SQM E towards SQM Make Market. - Guarantee the availability of the work products for all the relevant components. - Support of ECP and PCN Process Supplier Selection - Ensure Maturity Evaluation availability and updates from project team towards SQM E and SQM DM - Identify missing or not up-to-date audits / GQA and request (re-)audit/completion from responsible SQM. - Track and support execution of Supplier Component Review (SCR). - Support in-time sourcing of feasible suppliers with decisions signed according signature rules. - Support in-time sourcing and to guarantee Sourcing Decision signature according signature rules. - Identify gaps in supplier panel and feedback to SQM E and SQM M. Warranty - Support warranty analysis of supplier quality issue (as assigned). - Drive supplier 8D process; Initial 8D review - Problem solving support for suspect material in development/production - Support and present (as assigned) warranty returns part report/8D to customer. - Support weekly Review of warranty returns parts status Additional Responsibilities: Component introduction - Support in-time releases of new components. - Facilitate the hand-over from SQM CI towards SQM Make Market (if needed). Performance&Reporting - Regular update of Component Introduction APQP / PPAP status from SQM Plant towards project team/ engineering. - Escalation in case quality requirements of components or component introduction schedule can't be met. - Provide regular report to BU SQM Manager. Lessons Learned - Initiate Lessons Learned within BU and SQM (related to component introduction, component specification, supplier selection, technology experience) Job Requirements - Required Qualifications: - Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent - 2 years working experience in Quality function and/or project management, automotive industry - Knowledge of quality tools, quality methods, problem solving, standards for automotive - Knowledge in manufacturability mechanics parts (injection molding, stamping, casting, etc.) - Ability to travel 10-15% - Advanced English language (read, write, speak) - Communication and presentation skills, team work, open for innovation and changes - Preferred Qualifications: - Leading of Quality Audits (Process and System). - Experience in working with automotive supplier Visa Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
