About the role: A Security Test Engineer is responsible for security testing of applications and systems under development. This individual will actively participate in the company's SDLC by providing leadership in the implementation of secure testing requirements, standards and practices. The Security Test Engineer is a key member of project teams, ensuring security requirements and designs are tested and verified during the coding and testing phases. The Security Test Engineer works closely with the Security Architecture and Security Assurance teams to ensure that there is coordination and coverage for all testing activities and all project security testing requirements have been met prior to application or system promotion into the production environment. A Security Test Engineer is aligned with and supported by Security Assurance team in the global Information Security & IT Risk Management group that is responsible for enterprise wide vulnerability scanning and penetration testing. **Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. * Preferred but not required certifications in one or more of the following: * CISSP, ITIL, CISM, CISA, CGEIT or CRISC. Preferred Qualifications: * 3 + years of progressive experience in multi-tier application development and application security testing. * Experience reviewing source code for security vulnerabilities * Technical knowledge of access control mechanisms, federated authentication schemes, encryption, digital certificates and trust-based authentication * Experience in designing and implementing technical solutions that include: * Identity and Access management * Security monitoring, logging, and correlation * Network Security * Storage Security * Application Security * Hosting and Endpoint Security * PKI and Cryptography Why General Motors?
