Job # Role: xxxx- Solutions Architect Work Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Local candidates will take preference) Duration: Long term(Contract) JOB SUMMARY: The Technical/Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and documenting the overall application strategy in support of the Technical/Solutions Architecture and application lifecycle and technology planning processes.Another key component to this role is the ownership of the Technical/Solutions application, information, and technology strategies and alignment to business strategy, processes and organization. These strategies define the guiding principles and goals of how the client will utilize information technology, as well as input into a comprehensive project portfolio of projects to deliver the strategy.The Technical/Solutions Architect is also responsible for the development and maintenance of Information Technology standards, standards adherence and project architecture guidance. The Architect is also responsible for developing and maintaining the application portion of the IT documentation repository, EA planning repository and operational configuration management repositories.The Technical/Solutions Architect is also responsible for insuring that standards and processes are adhered to by development and implementation projects. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Define the strategic application technology direction for client and align to client standardsCommunicate application technology strategy to business, region, group and suppliersSet application architecture directionMaintain and enhance the SEP systems development methodologyDefine application-related policies, standards, patterns and guidelinesSupport definition of IT sourcing strategiesMonitor technology trends with an emphasis on application technology Analyzing IT industry and market trends to determine their impact on the Technical/SolutionsConsulting on application and infrastructure development projects to fit them to the architecture, as well as determining when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needsMediate deviation of standardsSupport governance of technology complianceDesigning the governance structure and activities associated with ensuring application compliance with the Technical/Solutions architectureIdentifying the organizational resources, structures and cultural change necessary to support the Technical/Solutions architectureSupports the documentation processes for the complex information technology environment within and provides these documents to projects and operational areasSets work priority based on business objectivesEnsures information technology strategy is in alignment with client standardsMaintains and advances an application technology strategy on behalf of the client Qualifications: SPECIALIZED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR CERTIFICATIONS UNIQUE TO THIS JOB Experience and / or certifications in the concepts and methodologies of Technical/Solutions architecture (eg Zachman Framework, TOGAF, etc) and application architectureConceptual knowledge of business area processes and functionsKnowledge of information technologies (Database, Business Intelligence, Infrastructure, Networks, Web & Integration software)Broad understanding of technologies and has experience in implementation methodologies, software development life cycle process, and project managementExcellent planning and organization, project management and time management skillsStrong problem solving and negotiation abilitiesAbility to inform, educate and influence managers and employees to support goals and initiativesExceptional written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and initiatives to staff and managementKnowledge of the vendor market and possess existing relationships Experience: 8+ years of experienceMust have hands on architecture experience with the following technologies: Java/JEE, Oracle, WebSphere, UNIX, MessageBroker, SAP, and Mobile (android or iOS).
