Responsibilities
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior SharePoint Application Administrator is responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of CS systems. Assists or performs troubleshooting for hardware, software and system problems that involve CS application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and third party software and application modules. Works with database administrator and application development team in defining user requirements, coordinating system:wide updates and installing upgrades and patches for CS systems including SharePoint, application, security, and other upgrades. Collaborates with Architect on recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, and optional and third party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CS systems. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features, recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions. Participates in design, development and implementation of test and production applications. Performs configuration, change management and testing activities as required. Consults users on technology changes that will impact work processes.
The Senior SharePoint Application Administrator works with multiple teams within the CS application environments, including services and databases of high impact, high importance, and high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of applications and tools.
The ideal candidate will have supported application technology projects and advised management and users on new or optimal technologies or methods to improve the functionality and/or efficiency of the organizations application architecture. He or she will have coached, trained, and mentored less senior professionals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Administer CS Systems, environments, upgrades and security for SharePoint xxxx, Project Server xxxx and TFS.
* Assist in the Implementation, Configuration and Support of new services and applications into the SharePoint xxxx environment.
* Assist and consult with Architects in capacity planning and tuning of web servers, application servers and process schedulers on Windows platforms.
* Coordinate with Infrastructure Teams for trouble:shooting, capacity and performance issues.
* Assist end:users with configuration options for CS Systems.
* Assist in the installation of CS System upgrades (SharePoint service packs or CUs, other patches as required).
