MSX International is currently seeking a Senior Application Engineer. The successful candidate’s primary roles and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to: Individual contributor responsible for the delivery of software application activities Possesses advanced analytical, technical, and problem solving skills and abilities Works with current and perspective users in a consultative role to identify strategic and tactical requirements that affect continuous improvement in system quality and manufacturing or business processes Analyzes requirements and develops user specifications Plans, schedules and engages in the complex or comprehensive phases of software applications design, implementation, and support Performs assignments with minimal supervision and may have the assistance of less experienced engineers Design, test, debug, and implement new software application systems and enhancements to existing systems Performs maintenance on existing software applications May solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult for other projects Provides insight and status to management and follows AAM IT methodology and use of templates for project and work requests Experience with computer programming languages and systems integration design, modeling, development and testing using .Net (ASP.NET, C#) and Java Advanced knowledge of web programming including HTML, JavaScript, and cascading style sheets Advanced knowledge of, and experience with, industry standard software development lifecycle methodologies Functional experience with Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio) Functional Ability to work in a mixed technical environment (ie Unix-Oracle and/or Microsoft-Oracle/SQL Server) Functional experience in performance testing of Oracle, Java, and .NET technologies Functional experience in designing and implementing web services using XML/SOAP in an SOA environment Functional knowledge of user experience and web interface design Functional knowledge of TSQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server xxxx/xxxx databases (R) Functional knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (R) Functional experience with Microsoft Project (P) Basic experienced in infrastructure setup such as current Microsoft Windows Server installation, Microsoft SQL Server database installation, web servers (Microsoft IIS) Functional ability to work with Microsoft Mobile devices (CE / mobile) Basic knowledge of PLC and other unique plant floor devices to enable data collection Advanced degree Automotive industry experience Required Education Bachelor’s Degree - Computer Science/IT or other area with equivalent training Minimum five years IT experience
