PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION:
Support the analysis and development of software engineering tasks in the development of new products utilizing cutting edge technology, with specialized skills in cloud computing, data collection and analytics.
The Product Development Engineer will architect and build cloud:based systems for our customers, consisting of world:class technology companies including some fo the top players including automotive, material handling and electronics industires.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
:Expertise and knowledge with combinations of the following technologies:
:Architecture and deployment of cloud:based systems
:Object:oriented programming
:Medium to large size databases
:Hadoop for handling big data, as well as complementary Hadoop technologies such as HBase,
:Hive and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) a plus
:.NET (particularly Microsoft Azure) and/or Java
:Some combination of Python, Perl
:Web services and APIs as in RESTful or SOAP
:Service:oriented application development (SOA)
:HTML5
:Apache Impala
:Apache Hadoop MapReduce a plus
:Cloudera experience a plus
:Specification, Design, Implementation of Data Center Developments.
:Development and Implementation of Product Tests and Product Test Procedures.
:Assist Documentation staff in the development of product documentation.
:Resolve field reported problems.
:Communication with other engineering staffs on product and development related issues.
:Update and modify design and engineering documentation as required for assigned
:developments.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. SKILL/KNOWLEDGE
:Aptitude for software and software development tools.
:Aptitude for technical writing and typing skills.
:Specific experience with systems capable of handling large data
2. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
:Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering major preferred
:Graduate degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
3. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY
:Ability to lift 25 pounds.
:Able to use basic hand tools
