Title: IT Security Officer Client: Tweddle Group Location: Clinton Township Type of Position: Direct Hire We are looking for an experienced IT Professional to fill the role of "Security Officer". * The successful candidate will likely have a strong background in Digital Networks, Database Systems, Servers, etc. * Strong understanding of Programming Techniques, source controls etc. A background in Application Programming will be an advantage but it is not required that the Security Officer be an expert programmer. * Strong knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux experience required) and the scripting environments in use on these is required. * He/she is likely to hold some certifications in both OS and network (eg Cisco) standards and will have a strong familiarity with encryptions, anti-spamming techniques, virus prevention and detection, PCI standards and ISO xxxx1 and ISO xxxx2 * Some experience in the conceptual analysis of application design, with particular reference to the best practices of security implementation would be an advantage, particularly in relation to Mobile Applications. * A minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in an appropriate discipline is required, with a Masters being desirable. * At least 3 - 7 years of experience in an equivalent position is also required. The role will be to: * Establish a digital security policy for the Company - both for its internal operations but also for its digital products. * Monitor and report compliance to the policy. * Advise on Security threats and current techniques to protect from them. * The role we have does have an element of Application Security, ie not only considering the security of data and systems in an operational setting - but also the approach to application design that minimizes the risk of security breaches.
