Data Architect - (Troy) in Detroit, Michigan For Sale

The Data Architect aligns business unit/functional data requirements to enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) system solutions by designing creating deploying and managing the technical infrastructure of the data. This role focuses on how data is stored organized integrated and managed within the BI framework. This position is responsible for the design and delivery of BI solutions where data will be extracted transferred and loaded (ETL) from a target system to a data warehouse data mart and/or multi-dimensional cube. The architect will build data models to improve reporting and analytics and will own and manage the enterprise data architecture methodology and policy. The architect will be a data governance council board member to ensure business users and IS functional managers are aware of current data architecture policies. The architect will also be a voting member of enterprise architecture review board to ensure projects involving data architecture integration are following policies and best practices before development and implementation. Candidates for this position must have a solid understanding of BI and data processes. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in data modeling using such tools as SQL Developer ErWin or PowerPivot. The candidate must have experience designing data warehouses data marts and cubes and should also have a background in Oracle BI Foundation (OBIEE/OBIA) and/or Microsoft BI. *Analyze and evaluate current processes and systems benchmark best practices and recommend solutions for improvement *Lead the design and delivery of data architecture solutions in BI projects *Provide technical implementation leadership *Ensure functional and system design specifications meet established architectural standards *Understand the emerging technology and upgrade features for each process and determine which should be prioritized and implemented *Coordinate with IS Business Solution Global Process Managers Leads and Analysts to work towards best-practice solutions *Analyze and offer recommendations to improve the use and execution of business system applications where data integration is required *Work with Solution Architects in identifying system weaknesses and recommend solutions *Document application/system functionality *Create design and specification proposals *Perform feasibility and functional studies *Estimate project resource and time requirements *Plan and organize activities and resources to achieve short and long-range goals
