Considering a roommate so I can save some money and get some debt paid off. I've lived alone for years and have grown quite accustomed to it, so it would have to be the right person and right situation for me to consider it. I'm 33, single, and work full-time in the medical field. My job is a set schedule and I work 9-5ish type hours. During the week, I'm usually at home watching TV after work. I like that quiet and peaceful time to unwind and de-stress from work. Finding a roommate that works similar hours and is courteous about being quiet in mornings/evenings, or that isn't home much, would be ideal. I have one cat. She is a cornish rex ( it if you're not familiar) and a total sweetheart. Unlike most cats that are aloof, she loves everyone (especially new people), and after talking for a bit, has no problem jumping in your lap so she can convince you to pet her. She uses the litter box like a pro. As long as you like (or don't mind) cats, you'll get along. Even my family members that don't like cats like her. I consider myself a fairly good roommate. I pay bills on time, I pitch in with doing the dishes and shoveling the snow, and generally try to be considerate of the person I'm living with. I don't leave the lights on when I'm not home, I don't eat others' food without asking, I don't play loud music (unless I'm certain I'm home alone), etc. If you can say the same, there's a good chance we'd get along. I'd like to be in Ferndale, Royal Oak, Oak Park, Huntington Woods, or Berkley. My budget is 450, although I can go a little higher if utilities are included. For the sake of my sanity, I am only looking to live with one other person. If you can't commit to only having me as a roommate, then we probably won't agree on things.
