Position Summary: The infotainment hardware group is seeking an experienced PCB Layout engineers and technicians for their PCB layout engineering group. The Layout Technician would work under the leadership of Layout supervisor and hardware engineering Sr. Manager on the electrical development of high performance automotive infotainment head units incorporating navigation, voice recognition, and wireless connectivity all wrapped around an audiophile sound system. The Layout Technician provides design support for the realization and manufacture of infotainment products using the Harman design and development processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct or indirect reports.
Job Responsibilities:
: Develops PCB layout solutions for automotive infotainment hardware products that incorporate features such as audiophile receiver systems with the embedded application of Multimedia, Navigation, Voice Recognition, and GPS transceivers that also feature wireless connectivity through Bluetooth, Wi:Fi, and Cellular connections.
: Supports the release of Gerber's and BOMs to prototype and production PCB board manufactures using Harmans configuration management and PLM systems.
: Participates in PCB layout reviews.
: Supports the development of program documentation relating to PCB designs.
Basic Qualifications:
: Five (5) years' experience in the design of PCB layouts, preferably in the automotive or consumer product industry.
: Knowledge of ECAD tools for PCB Layout and schematic capture. Including software tools from Mentor Graphics such as PADS or Expedition PCB layout tools, DxDesigner or Design Capture for electrical schematics.
: Experience with other ECAD tools such as Hyperlynx for signal integrity simulation, VALOR for manufacturing DRC rules checking, SPICE, Saber, Eagleware, and/or ADS electrical simulation tools is highly desired.
: Experience with leading edge technologies that incorporate BGA and high density surface mount components on multilayered PCB structures with blind and buried via's is preferred
: Ability to read electrical schematics.
: Knowledge of automotive electrical and audio system architectures and the PCB design techniques needed to support them is a plus. Including the distribution of analog and digital audio signals in the automotive domain.
: Experienced in the support for RF signals is a plus.
: Knowledgeable on the PCB design techniques for automotive radiated and conducted emissions and the engineering principals for low EMC/EMI PCB design.
: Knowledge of Automotive OEM EMC requirements including CISPR:25, FCC part 15, ISO xxxx1, etc.
: Knowledge of Automotive OEM design and release systems and documentation requirements are a plus.
