Mortgage Processor/Closer - (Novi) in Detroit, Michigan For Sale

Vibe Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Processor/Closer for our Novi Headquarters. The candidate will have experience in both processing and closing of mortgages. Essential Duties of the Mortgage Processor: Compiles residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets secondary market standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, debt ratios and length of employment Adheres to all regulatory procedures as related to to RESPA, TIL and TRID Interpret underwriter findings and clarifies conditions Calculates debt ratios, loan to value, required funds, private mortgage insurance premiums, etc. Calls specified companies to obtain title insurance, clarify conditions, survey, appraisal and flood certs Verify that data collected meets loan requirements Informs supervisor of discrepancies in any data collected Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval Maintains contact with all parties involved in transaction; member, realtor, title company, seller, Mortgage Specialist Prepares approval and denial letters to applicants Submits approved mortgage loan file to Mortgage Closer for settlement Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved, canceled or denied Understands regulations and internal policies related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and completes annual training Essential Duties of the Mortgage Closer: Reviews approved mortgage loan to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing Communicate with borrower, real estate broker and title company to request specified documents Verify accuracy and consistency of specifications on mortgage closing documents Communicate with borrower, broker and other specified individuals to arrange time and date for closing Inform borrower of closing costs and any documents needed at closing Answer questions regarding closing requirements Prepare closing documents with high speed and accuracy Assemble documents for delivery to title company, real estate broker or lending officer for closing Perform mortgage closings and travel to branches if necessary to close Record loan information in log and on government reporting forms Disburse mortgage loans Understands regulations and internal policies related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and completes annual training Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience Required: Five years of processing conforming mortgages and non-conforming mortgages. Post high school training/classes in the mortgage field desirable Skills/Abilities: Effective and professional telephone skills.
