Description
Instrument Technician for Performance Materials
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Electrical and Instrument equipment encompassing the Cellasto Reactor systems, mold lines, dose machines, hot oil system, oven curing, N2 deflashing, cutting and assembly machines and visual weigh. This includes 480vac switch gear, 480vac breakers, DC drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Program and troubleshoot Siemens, Allen Bradley and Modicon PLC's, VFD's and HMI devices. Design and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings and P and ID's. Perform calibration on all process control devices and maintain documentation in SAP. Most work is production assisted, indoors and could be performed at elevated heights.
Works with maintenance supervision, other technicians, engineers and production personnel to design plant equipment and modifications.
Improves equipment reliability through gained experience, this is accomplished by maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and utilizing all resources available. Findings reported to supervision with appropriate recommendations.
Support, maintain and improve the Cellasto preventive maintenance, Mechanical Integrity programs to insure equipment reliability.
Responsible for SAP requisitioning of replacement parts from site SSP as well as obtaining outside sources to replace, upgrade or implement new equipment designs.
Actively participate in plant safety meetings. Works within BASF site and corporate procedures.
Qualifications : BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Required:
Qualifications
High School education or equivalent and one of the following:
: Two (2) year Associates Degree in a related Instrumentation, Electronics or Electrical field.
: Registered apprenticeship in an Instrumentation, Electronics or Electrical program.
: Academic degree in related technology area to a maximum of 4 years.
: Related work experience in reading loop sheets, electrical interconnect drawings, ladder logic drawings, equipment and process instrumentation diagrams (P and IDs) and knowledge of prevailing electrical codes.
Also:
: Basic computer literacy: Windows operating system, Outlook e:mail and databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
: Excellent safety skills. Must comply with OSHA and plant:specific safety procedures.
: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
