Currently, this Tier 1 automotive supplier needs a talented individual to fill the role of Manufacturing Engineer at our World Headquarters location in Detroit, Michigan. American Axle is holding a Hiring Event on October 22nd in Detroit for Manufacturing Engineers. These are full time, direct hire positions working in a plant floor setting. Hiring managers will be prepared to make offers to candidates that meet their requirements at the end of the interview day. After a phone screen interview qualified candidates will be invited to interview directly with hiring managers and HR on the Hiring Event day. These positions are located in Detroit, MI. Position Overview:Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and proceduresEstablish and coordinate required project activities or reviews and evaluate proposals for existing and new manufacturing processesProvide technical support to manufacturing personnel at AAM global facilitiesSpecify processes for new programs or modify for existing programsProvide cost requirements for relevant programsFormulate specification packages for release of programs to outside equipment suppliersEvaluate supplier bid packages on quoted programs and report sourcing recommendationsReview and finalize supplier selection with other responsible parties and departmentsMonitor and provide direction throughout build process according to QS/ISO and AAM specifications proceduresProvide support for equipment runoff and PPAP at equipment suppliers and AAM global facilitiesProvide support for other plant floor operations as required at AAM global facilitiesManage manufacturing engineering documentationother duties as assigned Required:BS Engineering disciplineMinimum 2 year manufacturing experienceExcellent analytical skillsStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Preferred:Automotive industry experienceExperience with manufacturing engineer experience in the following areas are highly desired: Gears, Machining or Assembly EEO Statements: AAM provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all qualified applicants for employment without regards to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, height, weight, or status as a protected veteran.
