Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the Production Manager in driving quality activities within the production facility. Through the use and knowledge of the ISO : and ISO xxxx5 Quality Management Systems, Quality Tools, and Oerlikon Balzers Standards, the Quality Engineer ensures that quality problems are effectively addressed and that quality standards are being implemented and adhered to within the production facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
: Analyze quality trends through data mining and analysis and conduct monthly Quality Council Meetings to help find and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and problem solving processes (PSP)
:Conduct quality audits as prescribed by the local quality registration (ISO or Customer Requirements)
: Participate in the analysis and disposition of non:conforming product as required
:Interface with customers to resolve quality issues and facilitate quality:planning (APQP) and development of work instructions for customer:specific requirements. These activities will require the use of various inspection equipment to include:
:X:ray Fluorescence (XRF)
:Various Hardness testers
:Visual inspection and Microscope
:Maintain the ISO : and/or ISO xxxx5 Medical Quality Management Systems, if required, to ensure compliance with global, national and local requirements.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Production Manager to identify and address quality concerns
Provide training and support to employees on all quality concerns, customer complaints and application of quality methodologies.
Creation of operational work instructions for production
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:
Minimum: 4 year degree in Quality, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Professional certification in quality disciplines (ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred).
Experience:
2+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing and/or production environment.
2+ years of experience implementing and executing ISO :xxxx/ ISO:xxxx5 standards is highly preferred.
Skills:
Proficient using MS Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) as required
Ability to effectively use problem:solving tools such as Pareto charts, SPC methodologies, cause and effect diagrams as well as 8D (or a similar problem solving discipline).
Proven experience with APQP / PPAP disciplines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as strong presentation and team:building skills.
