To learn more, visit HenryFord.comResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision from the Chair of Behavioral Health Services (BHS), and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Primary Care, the Manager of Integrated Behavioral Health Program performs project work aimed at improving clinical care design systems/functions within or between the corporate entities. May work individually, as lead program manager of a complex project team, or as lead of a multi-program team. The work may require facilitation of a large multi-disciplinary group of administrators and/or medical personnel. Acts as the System resource to research, develop and promote an Ambulatory behavioral health integration model throughout HFMG. Emphasis is on achievement of system-wide quality goals including the spread of successful integrated behavioral health programs across the health system. He/she prepares reports and recommendations for management, coordinates program implementation, provides direct patient care, and communicates regularly with the Chair of BHS, CMO of Primary Care, and CMO of Population Health on projects. May supervise tasks of support staff, Program Managers, and mental health clinical staff and trainees. Direct patient care includes assessment, diagnoses, and evidenced-based treatment of patient mental health and emotional disorders. Treatment may consist of crisis intervention, as well as individual, group, and family psychotherapy. Will ensure that the quality of program care is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Management Responsibilities:• In collaboration with the Chair of BHS, CMO of Primary Care, and CMO of Population Health provides direction to the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) staff and HFMG related to initiative design, development and implementation, identifying resource needs, key measures of success, and alignment of key constituents.• Serves as the conduit for organizational "spread" by fostering adaptation of the current Integrated Depression Care model to support mental health integration across the HFMG and HFHS; identifying synergistic opportunities amongst disease conditions and integrating the model across the organization.• Consults with national experts and remains current on literature for input into various aspects of integrated mental health and health care delivery redesign models.• Provide consultative support/direction to IBH staff, Program Managers, and sites/departments during various stages of development and implementation of mental health integration including: process/structure, planning activities, implementation strategies, performance monitoring and maintenance.TITLE: Manager-Integrated Behavioral Health Program• Develop and maintain expertise in various forms of chronic disease management and mental health integration through literature review, knowledge of "best practices", and liaison with industry leaders.• Periodically reports to and makes recommendations to senior leadership on the progress/efficacy of care delivery projects.• Cultivate positive relationships with medical and nursing leaders and members of support staff team to promote acceptance of new concepts as viable alternatives to traditional models of care (operationalizing new models of care).• Partner with HFMG, HF hospitals, Community Care Services and HAP to develop/share strategies for improving integrated mental health and chronic disease care.• Promote shared learning and program spread across the System.• Link with Finance, Planning/Marketing, IT, Human Resources, and other pivotal support areas for development of a business plan to project spread/growth requirements, and potential return-on-investment for innovations in mental health care delivery.• Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with Planning/Marketing; IT; Finance; and Human Resources as System support areas integral to proliferation of the model.• Develop marketing tools to cultivate new business opportunities externally and promote awareness, understanding, and participation for current patients.• Develop and expand relationships with external organizations as partners to assist with continuous developments, refinement, educational resources, and financial support.• Develop, implement, analyze and report data related to selected outcome measures for performance monitoring as it relates to clinical outcomes; financial impact; satisfaction; quality of life; and utilization. Provide feedback to participants with input on continual improvement.Clinical Responsibilities:• Collects data about individuals through the use of interviews, case histories, standardized psychometric tools, observational techniques, and collateral information.• Administers, scores, and interprets brief psychometric screening instruments• Selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment.• May recommend treatments for psychological disorders to facilitate improved adjustment and functioning, utilizing various psychological techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, problem solving therapy, interpersonal therapy and supportive therapy.• May collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, advanced practice providers, other specialists, Diabetes Care Center staff, and Ambulatory Case Management in developing treatment programs and self-management plans for patients.• Observes and evaluates patients' progress in relation to treatment. Writes reports for histories, as appropriate/required.• Timely documentation of clinical encounters.• Provides training and supervision of BHS practicum students, pre-doctoral interns and/or post-doctoral fellows (if qualified per licensure status)• Performs other related duties as required.TITLE: Manager-Integrated Behavioral Health ProgramEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:• PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Masters in Healthcare related field• A minimum of five (5) years of clinically relevant healthcare supervisory experience, Behavioral Health consulting and/or Program Management experience. Experience in both mental health services and program management preferred. Previous experience in quality improvement and spreading improvement initiatives to multiple areas is highly desirable. Previous experience in managing operations and staff is highly desirable.• Proven ability to manage large, complex, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.• Ability to lead/provoke the thinking of senior level administrators and medical leadership.• Strong skills in diplomacy, collaboration and critical thinking.• Strong leadership/ mentoring skills applicable to both Program Managers and multi­Disciplinary teams.• Commitment to the team concept and ability to demonstrate teamwork, initiative and willingness to learn.• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate time management and flexibility.• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System.• Strong, growing base of quality improvement, disease management, facilitative, and process improvement knowledge.• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to teach complex improvement concepts to non-Management Services managers and clinical staff.• Knowledge of and access to relevant System data or data gathering techniques; and ability to work with data analytics team members.• Sound decision-making skills with an emphasis on positive long-term impact on programs/projects.• Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Visio, e-mail and internet navigation software.• Experience using an electronic medical record and patient registries,• Proven project management skills including the coordination of the work of others.• Ability to take concepts, ideas, models and transform into a format for practical use and implementation.• Accepts and respects diversity without judgment• Demonstrates customer service values.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:Must be a fully licensed psychologist in the state of MichiganQualifications:Each Clinical Psychologist applicant must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology in the appropriate discipline from a graduate program approved by the American Psychological Association, or from a graduate program approved by the Canadian Provincial Government in which the program is located, or from a program acceptable to the National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology.The applicant must have completed an American Psychological Association approved Pre-doctoral internship or Post-doctoral training in the area of requested expertise or by the appropriate Canadian province, or must meet the requirements of a Registrant in the National Register, or must be a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.
